The Magic Castle
THIS EVENT IS FULL. JOIN THE WAITING LIST IN CASE ADDITIONAL SPACES ARE CREATED.
DEADLINE TO CANCEL WITH A FULL REFUND IS AUGUST 5; NO REFUNDS THEREAFTER UNLESS YOUR SPOT(S) GETS FILLED.
Fred, our resident magician, has arranged for a truly amazing opportunity, to see the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood! And he's arranged with the chef to have a vegan menu for us (and his Vegan drinks group, this will be a co-mingled event, so the RSVPs you see won't represent all the vegans/vegetarians going)!
If you don't know, the Magic Castle is invitation only, so don't miss this opportunity. And I can promise you this will be your only chance for vegan options! I went a few years ago and had to order a chicken pasta dish without the chicken!
Here's Fred's detailed info about the event:
Your host and guide will be Fred Wodnicki. He’ll show you the Castle and tell you everything you need to know to make the most of your visit.
The total cost is only $50 and is due by August 5. That includes admission, dinner, tax, tip* and all the shows you can see. We are almost full so don't be shut out.
*Valet parking and drinks are not included. Parking is $8 per vehicle. Some street parking is available but rare and a couple of blocks away.
Make your payments safely by sending money with PayPal. Send the money to [masked], selecting the PERSONAL option and the payment type of OTHER.
The Castle does not normally prepare vegan dishes, but the chef is whipping up some specials for us, you must select your choice in advance. Below is the list of the four vegan choices that the chef can prepare:
1. Quinoa Paella
2. Yellow Thai Curry with Vegetables, Brown Rice
3. Cumin Grilled Tofu, Papaya Salsa
4. Polenta, Lemony Asparagus, Chickpeas
Either include your dinner choice with your payment or email it separately to [masked] (NOT in your RSVP on Vegetarian Dining Club or to me, Quinxy).
Here are the important club rules for the event:
NO ONE UNDER 21 Photo ID required. Please be sure that every member of your party has a legal picture ID (drivers license or State issued ID card) with them.

Dinner will be at 6PM, as that time allows people to eat, mingle and see more shows afterwards. There are at least five different shows that you may see running from 20 minutes in length to the main show, which is 50 minutes - we have guaranteed seating for the 8:30 stage show. Other shows begin at 7PM with the final one starting at 12:15AM. The Castle closes at 2AM.
The Magic Castle website is www.magiccastle.org.
Magically yours,
Fred W.
A PayPal account is very simple to set up and is free. It is very handy to have if you do online shopping or buy things on eBay.
However, if you do pay with someone else's paypal account, please be sure to let me know so I can credit the proper person as having paid.
Depending on how many people go, it could end up being about $5 cheaper p/p. If so, I will refund the difference.
There are only 9 more spots available for our 6pm dinner seating. It is first paid, first reserved so please be sure at least to get your deposit in; you can always change your mind by 8/5.
Uhm....Are any of us REALLY considering wearing a leather jacket???
I would certainly hope not, Rebecca. But everyone please follow the dress code rules above.
Hi,
Payment in full is now due for this event. I need to confirm my total reservation number with the Castle today 7/30 and need to know who is coming. If you intend to go, please make your payment, as I cannot hold reservations for unpaid people. If you have made a deposit, the other half of your payment is due. Sorry, but it is all on my credit card, so I cannot hold unpaid reservations. Also, please submit your dinner choice at your earliest convenience. Thanks.
Hi Fred,
I paid the first half on someone else's paypall. He will be back later this evening, at which time I'll pay the rest. We arrive at 6 pm? (or earlier for 6 pm seating?). Thanks for organizing this,
-Bianca
Hi Fred,
I cannot find the original email through which I paid you. How do we pay you?
-Bianca
Ok (to Fred again),
The person whose paypall I used says he can find you through his paypall records, so he'll do that. Thanks again,
-Bianca
By the way, I'll go with the polenta. Thanks.
-Bianca
Hi, this is Arnold, a new member, who has signed up to go to the Magic Castle (which I've been wanting to go to for years!). I'm wondering if there is going to be any car pooling, considering the extra cost of valet parking. If there is, I'd be glad to be apart of it, either as a rider or if it isn't too far, a driver. I live just north east of UCLA (just NE of Westwood). I'll be glad to meet everybody. Arnold (arnych@gmail.com) P.S. I'll be away until this August 6th.
This event is now filled up. We will be taking a waiting list soon.
Fred I paid today for two people and just now noticed your full sign. If you are indeed full you need to close sign ups to the site. Let me know if I'm in or not. I was in Mexico over the weekend and was not able to use the computer to pay before the 31st. I am however paid in full now for 2 people.
