Hi Ben and welcome. I think the public is interested, there's just not much organized in these parts. A drummer and a couple of bassists have joined who are also interested in jams, so my suggestion would be to connect with them, suggest a meetup and if 3 reply with interest, it automatically becomes an official meetup.
