To All,

Welcome to the Santa Monica Vegetarian Meet-Up Group! My name is Jim Price and I started this group, as you know by now. I look forward to sharing weekly explorations of various restaurants in the West L.A. area and sampling their vegetarian selections.

A little about me... I grew up in Cheviot Hills in West L.A. but have been away for many years until returning 3 years ago. I love the Santa Monica lifestyle: healthy and environmentally minded. Environmental issues are my passion in life, along with animal rights and vegetarianism of course!

Tonight's get-together will be at Pradeep's, a wonderful Indian Restaurant on Montana Avenue that serves many vegetarian selections. I have eaten there several times in the past and have always been pleased. At this time there are just two of us attending tonight, so of course more are gladly welcomed. But if it is just the two of us, we will have a good time nonetheless! I promise to post a picture or two from tonight.

I will soon be posting several proposed get-togethers for the upcoming weeks. My plan is to use Greenopia, a wonderful green guide for L.A., to choose a number of our gatherings. I look forward to trying a number of places I have never been, after all exploring is half the fun. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any suggestions for places to try or just general comments or ideas for the group.
